Wyoming

Wyoming might be the 10^th largest state in the US but it is the least populated state in the country. It is nicknamed the Equality State and is home only to over 585,000 people as of the 2016 census. Its capital city of Cheyenne is also the biggest in the state. This is a very safe state, too, with low violent crime rates. It is home to one of the US’ most popular tourist attractions – the Yellowstone National Park where the iconic Old Faithful Geyser is found. When it comes to marathon events, the oldest running marathon in the state of Wyoming is the Wyoming Marathon. This and a few other races in Wyoming take runners through the gorgeous Rocky Mountains.
