Best In-Person & Virtual Marathons in Pennsylvania for 2022
Pennsylvania
The state of Pennsylvania was named after its founder, idealist William Penn. The state is one of the thirteen original colonies in the US. It officially entered statehood in 1972 and was the second state to do so. Aside from being one of the original colonies, Pennsylvania is known for a few things such as the Liberty Bell and the cheesesteak sandwich. It is also known as the chocolate capital of the USA and has a huge denomination of Amish American residents. The state hosts one of the most popular races in the country – the Philadelphia Marathon – which has over 30,000 participants and 60,000 spectators.
