Most people think of the Idaho potatoes upon the mention of the state, but there are a few more interesting facts about this state. First off, it is the 13^th largest state in the US. It is also the US’ largest potato producer, as well as trout, lentils, and Australian winter peas. There are 3,100 miles of river in Idaho – more than any other state. There are also many outdoor recreation areas in Idaho as it is home to miles of protected wilderness. For this reason, it is the ideal backdrop for many marathon race events that are held each year in Idaho. There are a few marathon races in Idaho that are qualifying events for the Boston Marathon.
